The Physics Teacher Education takes the responsibility of the physics teacher education and of its research-based development at the Department of Physics. The main task is the education of physics teachers for the upper secondary schools, but the education is designed to give a broad basis for physics teaching professionals in general. The research carried on within the group is mainly guided towards physics education at the university level, especially focusing on physics teacher education. On this basis, innovative and successful solutions for physics teacher education have been developed. Part of the research projects addresses also physics teaching at the school level, with the goal of improving the approaches in teaching and for the better learning results. This research is carried out in close collaboration with the Department of Applied Sciences of Education.
